WELC is officially certified to prepare students for Cambridge examinations.
Our part-time Cambridge Examination Preparation courses are designed for foreign nationals who live, work or study in the Waterford area and are seeking a renowned English qualification to value their level of English.
Typically students are studying in second/third level Irish institutions or are working as interns/au-pairs or may even be in full time employment. Registered full time WELC students may also choose this course as an add-on to their existing course.
When are these courses available?
Part-time courses are available 2 evenings a week over 12 consecutive weeks. There is a week off during mid-term (October).
Starting the week of 11th September 2017. Classes are scheduled on Tuesdays & Thursdays 18:45 – 20:15.
What do we do in the classes?
This is a comprehensive exam preparation course focusing on all sections of the exam with exam paper practice and exam strategy advice.
This programme is highly intensive and will require private study assignments in addition to class work.
How many students are in each class?
Small classes between 3 and 8 students on average.
Closing dates for exam application is normally 6 weeks before closing dates below for examinations in Dublin, Cork, or Limerick:
NB/ WELC also organises a WELC mock examination day. Date to be confirmed.
How much do these classes cost?
The cost of this 12 week course is 45€ per week (540€ for 12 week course).

What qualifications do the teachers have?
A primary degree and an EFL teaching qualification which is recognised by the Irish Government’s Department of Education.
Years of experience in English language teaching and preparing students for Cambridge examinations.
