Junior Camp Immersion Programme


Course Overview

This course provides students with maximum opportunity to practice their English. Students are immersed in Irish family life and are also active in Camps with Irish children/youths. Students do not attend English lessons but are supported/monitored by a WELC coordinator during their stay. Students have one full day Saturday excursion and 1 evening activity with other international students during their stay. Transport to/from Camp: Host family will drop off and collect student from Camp.

 

Course description:

Students participates in Camps with Irish children of similar age from Monday- Fridays normally from10.00-15.00 – some specialized camps are on 3 days a week or afternoons/mornings only (e.g. cooking, surf, tennis, horse-riding....).

Camp types: Multiactivity, football, rugby, athletics, drama/art, science, Irish games, surf, tennis, cooking...

Students should be prepared to participate in various camp types. Some camp types are only available during specific weeks.

Supplement applicable for: Adventure/horse riding/sailing/golf camps.

 

Accommodation (Homestay):

Accommodation will be in a single or twin room sharing with a student of another nationality or a family member of the same sex and similar age (One student of each nationality per family).

  • Caring and welcoming host families carefully selected by WELC.
  • Host family provide breakfast, evening meal and packed lunch on camp days Monday to Friday or on any excursion days.
  • Host families bring drop off and collect students from camps.

 

 

What's included?:

  • Full board family accommodation with carefully selected Irish host family
  • Booking of Camps and associated Camp fees for 2 or 3 weeks depending on course duration. 1 full day excursion and 1 evening activity/disco with other international students, from end of June to mid-August only. Transport provided to/from all Camps by host family.

  • SUMMER PLUS PROGRAMME includes: Full day excursion every Saturday with other international students and 1 evening activity/disco during stay from end of June to mid- August only.

  • WELC coordinator to monitor set-up and integration.

  • 24-hour office service for emergencies.

    Note: Student must bring own sport clothes and shoes and towel. Packed lunch is provided on full day camp days.

    Fees do not include: any extras not specifically quoted for above including flights, travel/medical insurance, transfers to/from airports, supplements for any specific dietary requirements.
